Sometimes I want to resize tracks, i.e. make it wider (not in time but vertically in the arrange window) - to zoom in the audio, or make the smaller to save space. I can't see how to do this.

You can only change the hight of a track if the automation lane has been unfolded. If the automation lane is closed, there's only the single row and double row height button at the bottom left side of the arrangement view.

...but if you need a bigger view you can use the edit view.
