Is it possible to have a delay brought into the mix to repeat the end of a musical phrase?

If not, is it possible to hack or script a delay sampling one beat every bar?

There are two ways to do this.

The common way is to put the delay 100% wet on a send channel, and automate the send to go from zero to whatever is the desired level.

The other way is to duplicate the source track. On this second track, cut down the audio to the part you want to repeat, put a delay as an insert right on the track, 100% wet. No automation.
