I'm using 2.0 and having a nightmare splitting audio with the knife. In preferences I have 'Automatically create fades' switched on and set to Yet when I split clips in the main arranger, no fades are added and there are clicks galore. If I split a clip in the editor a fade is only added to one side.

Is this a bug? Is it on the radar to get fixed?

Having to manually add fades on everything is a real pain and workflow killer.

The option in the prefs is "automatically create fades on event split" - so it correctly happens if you split events. If you cut a clip, the event in it does not get edited, only the clip boarder changes.

For clips, you can easily set up a fade in and fade out in the inspector, saves the hassle of doing it graphically in the Arranger.

OK. I suppose it's partly for me to get used to being able to cut events into pieces - something which I'm not used to (coming from Live). It would be useful if auto-fades also happened on the Arranger too I think.

Thanks for the clarity.

EDIT: So I tried this and it works as you describe. However, I find editing clips more difficult than editing their equivalents in the Arranger. For example I work on a lot of long form ambient and I can navigate the Arrange as expected, add loop points, click to move around. The same isn't as good in the Clip Editor. Moving around for example in the timeline, if I click on say bar 100 the blue player marker and playback line both say 100 in the Editor and Arranger, but when I press play, playback starts from much further into the audio - i.e.: the syncing between the clip and the arranger is WAY out. How come?
