I just need to ask, does Bitwig Studio automatically calculate the latency for the audio of VST/VSTi plugins and my sound card like Ableton Live and Steinberg Cubase does for "Input Latency" and for the "Output latency" and "Overall Latency"?

I can see that Bitwig Studio have "Record Offset" and I'm not sure if that's the place I need my self to find the "Input Latency" and set it there?

Record offset is something used to correct for delay when recording audio. It can be different based on your particular setup, and from what I know it can't be calculated properly. The best way to measure it is to:

  • Create a clip with a short sample (preferably with instant attack);
  • Record output of that clip via microphone on a parallel track;
  • Measure difference between starts of recorded sample and original sample.

So, record offset must probably be a half of that measured time (because you measured both playback+recording latency, and you need to compensate only recording latency) (although this needs confirmation).

Apart from that, everything else inside Bitwig Studio (VSTs, internal FX/Instruments, containers, routing, etc...) is compensated automatically. You don't even need to think about that. :)
