I frequently get the error message when starting Bitwig Studio 1.1:

Engine failed to connect PortAudio Pa_OpenStream failed. Error: Unanticipated host error.

I am running Bitwig Studio 1.1 on a Win 7 Professional 64bit version. It's an Audio dedicated DAW computer. As Audio Interface I use RME Fireface UC with latest drivers. I have this problem only with Bitwig. With Ableton Live or Studio One I never get this problem. Any ideas?

So I got a reply by the support. This can happen in two cases:

1) A previous opened audio application did not close correctly the driver of the audio interface 2) Another audio interface was connected to the computer after the last restart of Bitwig.

Anyway, the audio engine can be resettet with [ALT] + click on the audio engine button
