After upgrading to bitwig 2.2 the izotope plugins BreakTweaker and Iris 2 went missing from the plug-in list. I did a rescan and the rescans cause the izotope plugins to crash and send bug reports to izotope. Bitwig reports this error:

com.bitwig.flt.library.metadata.reader.exception.CouldNotReadMetadataException: could not read metadata: Could not read VST plug-in metadata 64 bit plugin host reported errors: Pluginhost returned non zero exit code -1073741819 32 bit plugin host reported errors: Pluginhost returned non zero exit code -1

I rolled back to Bitwig 2.1.4 and the BreakTweaker and Iris 2 plugins worked fine again.

Are there any ideas on how I can make them work in 2.2?

Hello. It happened the same to me, vsts as Analog Lab (1 and 2) disappeared from bitwig just after the update. Lots of vst's are now missing, while they were always there. What has happened to do such a thing? I'm still struggling trying to make this work as it did before.

Many people complained that v2.2 wiped some of their settings, so have a look if all directories where you keep VSTs at are still listed in your settings. In my case, I can still see all the VSTs that I had in earlier version.

I also had a problem with the "StylusRMX" menu after updating to 2.2

I rolled back to Bitwig 2.1.4 and "StylusRMX" plugins worked fine again

2.2 I think it should be a quick error patch

@escapementdog:

Did you try regenerating BWS's VST cache as explained in the first answer here?

As I see you are on PC, here is the short version:

  1. Delete the folder name "index" in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\BitwigStudio
  2. Delete the file named "vst-metadata" in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\BitwigStudio\cache

Everything works for me with BWG 2.2, including all iZotope plugins.

I'm experiencing the same problems in Windows 10.. the vst2 versions of both plugs seem to work though. However I got some projects with vst3 versions of Iris2 and BreakTweaker in it and would love to get them working in 2.2,1 but for now I'm back to 2.1.4..

I built out a new DAW (threadripper yeah!) and decided to try this again. Windows 10 v1709, Izotope production suite 2. Bitwig 2.2.2.

The VST3 versions of the izotope plugins failed with the same error: com.bitwig.flt.library.metadata.reader.exception.CouldNotReadMetadataException: could not read metadata: Could not read VST plug-in metadata

I then downgraded to 2.1.4. The 64-bit versions load but the 32-bit versions don't. I don't use the 32-bit versions in my projects so not a big deal.

It's definitely a pain to replace all the VST3 uses with VST2.4 so I guess I have to stay with 2.1.4.

I've got Bitwig 2.3 but I'm still having problems with my iZotope plugins all not scanning.

I'm having the problem with BreakTweaker, Iris 2, StutterEdit, Trash2, Vinyl and VocalSynth both the 64bit VST2 and the VST3 versions.

They all throw the same error:

com.bitwig.flt.library.metadata.reader.exception.CouldNotReadMetadataException: could not read metadata: Could not read VST plug-in metadata 64 bit plugin host reported errors: Pluginhost returned non zero exit code -1

32 bit plugin host reported errors: Pluginhost returned non zero exit code -1
