When using the time selection tool in temporary mode, i.e. holding #2 on my keyboard, I can select a part of my arrange, but as soon as I let go of the #2 the selection changes into every region that wa sin my selection in its entirety, making my action completely redundant. Is this a bug or some other way of thinking I don't understand yet?

Hmm... I did some experimenting. I'm using a Mac trackpad with draglock. If I hold 2 and drag to select, it does seem to vanish when you let go of the 2, so it does feel buggy. However if you look closely, the Play Start Marker (blue triangle) should be at the start of the selected area. If you now hit 2 again, the selected area will be highlighted again. So it is stored, but not visibly. I'm not sure if it's buggy or supposed to act this way either.

I've been told it's supposed to work like this, exactly how you describe. Thanks for looking into it too!

Oh, well, I'll have to experiment a bit with it then. Probably easier to use the sticky version for now though, only an extra tap.
