I have a track with stereo audio data in it that I'd like to separate to two different tracks. How can I do that?

I'd also like to see a feature like this built in. I remember when I used to use Cubase (Cubase Studio 4), that had an option to split a stereo file. If I remember correctly, it would create two new tracks, one with the split Left channel audio on it, the other with the split Right channel audio on it. It's so handy for when you perhaps want to use only one channel of audio!
