Where does Bitwig store its preferences, packages and favourite collections? How can i backup that? etc.

To safely backup all your settings, installed packages and favourite collections, grab BWS' application data folder:

  • Windows (recent Versions): C:\Users\your_username/AppData/Local/BitwigStudio

  • Linux: /home/your_username/.BitwigStudio

  • MacOS: /Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/Bitwig (As of right now: unconfirmed, MacOS may hide certain stuff somewhere else - can someone check this and make sure?)

When I've updated to another version of Bitwig, I always lose my preferences, kb shortcuts, etc...is there a way to retain my preferences when I update Bitwig?

I'm on OS X, btw.

Windows wise -- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Bitwig Studio\prefs\2,x.prefs file is the file in which your preferences are stored. If you back that up and restore it after an upgrade it should all be fine. That is solely for the settings it is. Should be the same (or similar) file and path for the other OS's .
