Hello,

Is it necessary to special setting using MOD Wheel(CC1) for 3rd parties VST instruments such as Arturia, UVI or anything with MIDI keyboard? I think I'm asking a stupid question but... I really couldn't find the answer. Pitchbend wheel works, but MOD Wheel does not work with VST instrument...

Thanks in advance!

You have a newer version of V-Collection than me, but that should not make a difference. I loaded Prophet V2 and CS80 and the mod wheels work perfectly from the get go. Things to check: -- Did you load the script for your particular controller? open your dashboard and go to settings/ controllers. You should see your controller listed on this page. If it is not here click on add and select your controller. -- If your controller works fine in other DAW's then the midi CC1 is correct in your controller. The above the the only thing I can think of. Try that and let me know if that is the problem.

I almost solved this to use "Macro" and assigned the controller as MOD-Wheel of my midi keyboard. But some of VST Instruments doesn't appear the "Automation" for MOD-Wheel... I think I should ask the Plugin maker(3rd party) but if there is another way to use MOD-Wheel with 3rd plugs, I really would like to know.... By the way, I'm trying to use the UVI workstation. MOD-Wheel is very important to me.

Thanks!

Can you be a little more specififc? Which Arturia synth and version are you referring to? Which version of Bitwig? Is your midi controller mod wheel set to transmit on CC1? Windows, PC or Linux? If you can give me some more details I will see what I can find on my end.

Which Arturia synth and version are you referring to? :

Many of plugs that not only Arturia but for example I use following plugs.

  • Arturia DX7V v.1.4.2.2810
  • UVI Workstation v3.0.5 x64

Which version of Bitwig? :

3.0.1

Is your midi controller mod wheel set to transmit on CC1? :

I think so. My MIDI keyboard is KORG MicroKey(connected via USB). By the way, I also use Cubase, Pro Tools, Reason, and Reaper. All DAW are working perfectly with KORG MicroKey's ModWheel(CC1), and those VST VIs.

Windows, PC or Linux? :

Windows 10 Pro(64bit version 1809)

If you can give me some more details I will see what I can find on my end.

Thank you! :)

Hi,

Thanks for answering my question! I selected "Korg microKEY-25" because my keyboard is exactly this model at the Setting/Controllers screen. Now... I just tried to change to "Generic MIDI Keyboard". OMG... It works perfectly! It is like a little tricked me. Haha... Anyway, my problem is perfectly gone!

Thank you so much! Now I can use "Modwheel". Haha. :p

Cheers!
