Hi there!

I own a Minilogue xd which have a lot of knobs - many of which I want to automate. To achieve this ofc I use the Midi CC device. Since I have many knobs, I often need 2 or 3 of these devices to fully automate them.

However, automation lanes do not honor the custom name I give to them - which makes it really confusing when you use multiple CC devices, since they all just say "MIDI CC | P3".

See this picture: Automation Lanes

TL;DR it would be great if automation lanes would display the custom name given to the CC knob so you can easily identify which it is.

Device names are honored in the automation lanes, which is great! But only after a restart of Bitwig:

Device Names

YES ! I need it too :)

Hi guys,

Put macros between your device's remote controls and the device parameters you want to control. like this:

device remote control -> macro -> device parameter.

Then name the macro.

The name of the macro will then appear in the automation lane, when you move the remote control at the start of the "chain". The other benefit of this techniques is that you can change the amount of influence, your automation in the automation lane has by changing the amount of influence the macro has on the device parameter. Can be quite handy.

That's an alright workaround! :) Although I'd much prefer if the CC names just worked, since that's quite a lot of effort if I have like 30 controls...

Yes, fully right ! If the bitwig staff could do that it would be so better. Another proposition has been made on this forum to be able to give a color to each automation lane, it would help a lot too !
