I connected an Ableton (Windows) DAW with Bitwig (Linux) and setup Ableton as master. I set the tempo to 140 and started. Bitwig quickly changed tempo from 140 to 139 and back to 140. Several times a second. This wouldn't bother me, but then I used a Delay effect and got some weird effects, because when you change the tempo of a song the delay reacts on it it (that's good), but if it does all the time the effect is annoying because it produces some squeaking sounds. All the time.

Is there a way to prevent the quick midi tempo changes?

Try using Bitwig as master

Changing the whole scenario doesn't solve the cause. Even if it would work, but I doubt it would, if the other DAW is using some similiar setup.

BUT I got a good suggestion that both DAWs should be synchronized with MTC instead of Midi Clock. I will try that scenario the next session, because it seems to solve the cause.
