Hello, long time Cakewalk Sonar user here. Currently evaluating Bitwig demo and I LOVE the interface and workflow.

There are a few key things I could not get to work properly though, a major one is that I cannot seem to make bitwig work with general midi files out of the box. The best I managed is to drag and drop a midi file in bitwig and it loads the tracks but it does not register any of the sound or tempo information and probably other things. This is a problem for me as I often work with .mid files and many of my old projects are either in this format or I would need it to transfer some of my Cakewalk or FLstudio projects in bitwig.

I also have not discovered how to route the midi channel outputs in bitwig to my external midi gear such as a Roland Sound Canvas.

I suppose it will not be possible to save .mid document either ? I really like bitwig but the ability to work with .mid is not something I can do without. Any help is appreciated.
