I am getting into the habit of nesting effects into the FX layer of an instrument (dynamics for drums for example). But after adding an LFO object and nesting the effect inside that..I end up with a bunch of audio level meters which seems a bit excessive and takes up room on the screen..fine..however, my bigger issue is that collapsing the FX layer will hide the chain, but then it doesn't seem there is anyway to tell if an FX layer is empty or not - it becomes a memory game if I have many instruments with their own fx layers..some empty some full.

Am I approaching this whole nesting thing wrong? It seems I have to place devices I want to automate with LFO, nested into its FX layer..and then putting effects in an FX layer just seems logical.

oh wait...a gray dot appears on the line under the "FX" title of the layer button! cool :)
