Are there any plans to make it possible to bounce in MP3 format?

I understand that MP3 royalties are no longer collected:

https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/en/ff/amm/prod/audiocodec/audiocodecs/mp3.html

and Wikipedia claims

"The basic MP3 decoding and encoding technology is patent-free in the European Union, all patents having expired there by 2012 at the latest. In the United States, the technology became substantially patent-free on 16 April 2017"

I think that BWS is now free to include mp3 export natively and I encourage the development of same.

Nope, we're not planning to write any non-royalty free formats. You'll have to use an external tool for that, sorry.
