Will Bitwig work on Ubuntu Touch (the mobile OS for phones and tablets)? I watched the videos on Youtube about using a tablet with this product and now I want to buy a Nexus 10 and put Ubuntu Touch on it so I can use Bitwig with it. A refurbished Nexus 10 Wifi only 32GB is around $300 on Amazon so please let me know.

I cannot tell you, but if you read this page

at the bottom, it reads that multitouch is supported on Linux (they don't precise which flavour of Linux though).

Now, touch support is not the only thing to consider. Will you be at ease on a 10 inch screen to move sliders, check boxes and so on with your fingertip? I strongly advise you to try the interface on a Windows tablet before you spend your money on anything else.

On the performance side, if you mainly work with samples, it should be ok. But with virtual instruments? Consider the battery life as well...

If not I could leave Android on the tablet if it's supported.

I don't think 10" will be big enough. Even on my 13.3" hp pavilion x360 , i cannot reliably grab the eq-5 dots even with gui scaling set to max. Hopefully they make the dots bigger and get rid of the pointless radial swipe functions (ie. swipe up to duplicate) really gets in the way of a touch workflow.

This might arrive a bit late bit I am very sure the answer will be a firm No. Bitwig is made to run on x86 or amd64 architecture processors running OS's made specifically for those architectures, when a program is compiled from source it has to be tailored for the OS. Bitwig is not made to run on arm architecture (used on a Nexus 10 + most Android devices) or Ubuntu Touch, so even if the OS has all the dependent software packages Bitwig need to run on Desktop Ubuntu and installs .deb packages, it will not run without some serious Linux hacking skills, given that no one has already made the hack and is distributing it if Bitwig or Ubuntu don't make the necessary changes for it to work.

After some Google-ing I see that someone else asked this question and got a decent answer at AskUbuntu, see hear:

But the easiest way to run Bitwig Touch now is just to get a tablet with a amd64 processor (based on x86) and run Desktop Ubuntu (with Unity which was made with touch screens in mind) or Windows. You can get plenty of decent ones with Windows 10 already installed at Gearbest or Banggood. I went with a used Microsoft Surface 3 from Ebay for 300$ which will arrive shortly, can't wait to get my fingers on it :)
