I recently bought bitwig. I installed it at version 1.3.5.

Shortly thereafter, the application reported the availability of the 1.3.6 update, which I downloaded as deb package. What is the recommended upgrade procedure? Do I:

  • Need to uninstall the current version first
  • Can I run dpkg -i <new version=""> without deinstalling the current version?
  • Any other recommended procedure?

Yes dpkg -i is what I use and just drag and drop the new version into the terminal window. No need to uninstall.

I always use dpkg -i insert version and ... bingo. But I was running into some trouble with my version of ubuntu and the current bitwig version. Upgrading Ubuntu to current version should fix it.
