Recently whenever I use the bounce or bounce in place functions Bitwig ignores the first bar and then prints the audio from bar 2 onwards.. It never used to do this but i've had same issue in 1.3.5 and 1.3.6, anyone else? Have I got some count in setting turned on or something? Can't find any help in the manual..

So far, I can't replicate your problem... There was some bugs a few version ago, that had been fixed since 1.3.5 if I remember. Does it happen in any of your projects or one in particular? VST or built-in device? Audio source and/or midi clip? Can you share the project?

THIS-IS-A-COMMENT for Gruff: (because authors of this site has no idea what they're doing)

I have same issues, often bounce in place does bounce, I see a waveform, but it has "no input" - silent.

In my case it applies only to audio (analog data wav f.e.)

My setup:

Komplete Audio 6, Keylab 88, AKG-C214,, using 96kHz audio I/O

VSTs I use:

Guitar Rig 5, Kontakt 5 (Steven Slate Drums, Aria Cellos, Giant, & stuff)

To workaround this problem, you can try what I did:

Don't use "bounce in place" for problematic tracks with vst plugins. Try rgular "bounce" - it will create whole new audio track (for audio inputs ofc), then just copy & paste all settings from previous track (you can't copy bounced audio back on that track). Don't forget about devices from previous track.

After that bounced audio will work just fine, so you can do your stuff until next time...
