Hi, how do i convert melody (from an audio track) to midi track?

Just get Sonic Visualiser (http://www.sonicvisualiser.org/) and install all the Vamp plugins you can get. I think there are two that do audio to MIDI. It's all really high grade open source stuff, developed at universities for research. Most likely better than what's used in Ableton Live. Btw. there's already a vamp plugin (transient-detector) used in Bitwig, so we may get much more good stuff implemented in the future.

Nope - that is Ableton Live. This feature is not in BitWig.

Man! Was so excited to see this thread replied too because I thought someone was going to show how. Even logic can do some sort of audio to midi

I'm sure audio to midi will become a standard feature in all DAWs within the next few years, but at this moment Ableton Live is still on the forefront with that, and others just trailing. BitWig will probably only have such a feature by Version 3, as there are other "more urgent" requests/bugs pending at this moment.

You use Logic or Ableton for your audio to midi? How does that work? I'm curious, I sit with Ableton Live 9, but I've only used the function once and it was way off. I know others are very happy with the results, but I've been shy to use it.

I'm on logic 9.1.8 and it doesn't work all that well. Ableton's was way better. Was hoping bitwig was gonna have it.

Cubase has been doing it for quite a while. I find theirs to be more accurate than Live's. Bitwig has a lot to iron out before they tackle that beast.

It is still not added?

They dont need to make another Melodyne (in Ableton it anyway never too much worked to catch melody), just something to record tempo-change thru ramp LFO (or whatever) of percussive sounds and put it on Midi again..
