Is there a way to create multiple track regions (and eventually to name then)?

Maybe cue markers would be of help? In View menu select "Show Cue Markers", then you can double-click in the timeline header (area just below the loop region) to create cue markers. These can be named and you can jump between them by double-click or set up keyboard shortcuts.
