Hey all,

Bigwigs been fine for the last year, but ever since the update it's been an absolute task making a complete project. I've had to deal with close to max DSP with one instance of kontakt open, to around that through various driver updates and increasing sample size to 1024 (was 256 and lower with ableton, FL and usine).

But i haven't been able to work out the gui issue. It's so slow to shift a clip in arrangement view, resize the loop region, zoom etc, taking ages, and is quite stuttery and not smooth. With a new project open it's moderately okay, but not the best (or as it was).

PC specs are below:

i5 4670 OC'd too 3.6ghz 960gb SSD with >80% capacity free 32gb ram Windows 10 Professional GTX 970 MSI H87-g43 Motherboard 2x1TB Sata HDD's.

Anyone experiencing the same?

Does anyone have a phone number for support from bitwigs tech dept? I find it very frustrating having to wait with no answers as to how to rectify this problem.I'm trying to use this program in a professional situation and the lack of direct support from the company is glaring. We pay for this program and all that is promised with that purchase, assuming they will back up their product they sell with a way to communicate in a expedient way with the clients . This message board not only leaves us without any assurances that the problems are being addressed in a meaningful way but with no recourse if they aren't.

The newest set of fixes seems to have resolved the issue for me so people with this issue should update to the latest version and see if it resolves yours .Thanks Bitwig tech team. Glad to see your paying attention.

Thanks for responding!

I've dealt with sluggish performance with various updates, and have found that most of my problems have centered around the plugin's themselves. That being said, after scouring this forums for answers, there are things I've found (that others have suggested) that dramatically help improve BWS performance:

  1. Disable auto-suspend on plugins.
  2. Clear cache (sounds like you've done this)
  3. Bounce audio when you can.
  4. Use an external sound interface instead of native Windows drivers and sound cards
  5. Kill as many background processes in Windows as you can do so safely to free up processor time for BWS).

These things seems to have helped me.

I just installed the new updated version this morning, and so far, no issues (fingers crossed)

Good luck!

Not sure if it's the same - but the ui is very slow on moving/resizing clips with audio in it. Also when I start recording the ui hangs for like 5-10 sec before comming back. However the record is not affected by the hang. Is this what you experience?

II'm having the same problem. Running on a 2015 Mac probook I7 w/16 gb ram 2.8 ghz processor . Thought it might be new OSX (sierra) but happens on el capitan too.

Running on a mid-2014 Macbook Pro retina i5, 16 Go ram, Sierra, BW 1.3.13. Same here, for the moment bitwig is unusable, the GUI is sluggish every time i need to move something. VST, preset and audio sample loads ten times longer now... These problems happens on Capitan too...

If you disable your network connection, is it faster?

Sorry Gordo for me disable network connection did anything. Thanks for the help !

I tried everything listed including network connection and clearing caches and stuff, nothing helped.

The same in here. Loading samples is so painfully slow that cannot really do anything atm. :/

Everything has worked out great and amazingly smooth before. Bitwig has been amazingly responsive on everything before and losing yourself in playing around it has been a joy.

I re-installed Bitwig, turned of wifi, cleared cache. None of them worked.

I'm just curious - what version of BWS are you using? You mentioned "the update" - but did not mention which update you installed.
