So I'd really like to create clips with set lenths of varying amounts to record into, which stop automatically and begin looping when the fixed time has elapsed.

So far I've found the drop down menu in the transport bar which lets you set the post recording action, so i set 'do' to: play recorded, and 'after' to:, but this sets all clips to 4 bars, and I'd like some clips at 4 bars, some at 8 etc

I've also found the information bar when i click on an individual clip and the 'do' and 'after' settings here, but i can only bring up the information bar when i've already created a clip, and i can't find a way to record into a clip that has already been created (the cell only has a play button displaying, no record button) this is the same even when i double click a cell to create a clip, which seems strange.

Seems like it should be simple but for the life of me can't figure it out.

Any help much appreciated

Is there any solution to this? It is the one issue stopping me from moving to Bitwig.

You can pre-create the clip, and use the overdub record mode.
