I've been enjoying Bitwig on Mac OS so far and now I'm preparing to set up a studio desktop computer for Bitwig, running Windows OS. Now I'm wondering if all my files on my Apple PC running Mac OS, in "~/Documents/Bitwig Studio/Library/Presets", will be read by Bitwig under Windows OS?

It's about Clips, Presets and Templates. Under Mac OS Bitwig saves these files as this example: "MyClip.bwclip", "MyPreset.bwpreset", "MyTemplate.bwtemplate". My previous experience with files under Windows OS is that only three characters are added as an extension after the period, to indicate file type. Can some Windows/Bitwig user please chime in on this?

Windows also allows file extensions longer than three characters. So your presets and clips should be fine. I'm switching between OS X and Windows often and can use my presets cross platform without problems. (If you are using VST plug-ins in your presets then there could be issues, but that's not Bitwig Studio related really.)

THanks a lot! This information was important to me, as I'm planning to buy a Windows PC to back up, and eventually take over from, my current Apple MBP (early 2011) that slowly grows obsolete.
