Is there an Index for the manual? That would be much easier than the pdf readers search function and clicking throug all hits.

I think table of contents is probably your friend here. An index might be difficult to construct as many concepts are covered on many different pages (as you mention when doing a search). With the table of contents you also get the context of a feature.
