I hate to say it as much as I love this program and want this to be the next big DAW. There are some many small flaws in it that it's not efficient enough. Just moving midi notes around is kind of a pain and not efficient. I can't click on a midi not and press the arrow key and have it move to the next beat. It just moves a full beat. Small stuff like this Ableton has nailed and it truly makes it more efficient. Bigwig will be a better program but after my extensive use, I can see they have a ways to go. Bitwig if your reading this. just copy the shit out of Ableton to the T and you can trump them. But until you do, it's not efficient enough.

What exactly do you mean with " I can't click on a midi not and press the arrow key and have it move to the next beat. It just moves a full beat. " If you click on a midi note, cursor keys move the note according to the current grid setting. If you want to move it by 16th, full beats etc, just select the desired grid resolution in the editor.

And in general: Yes, Bitwig 1.0 is ready and it will continue to evolve from here on. Next step: 1.1!

I thought you were clearly talking about moving notes in your original post, not to stretch the note: "Just moving midi notes around is kind of a pain and not efficient. I can't click on a midi not and press the arrow key and have it move to the next beat."

But changing the note length is also possible using the keyboard: ctrl-cursor left and right for changing the note length coarse and ctrl-shift for fine changes.

Would be nice if you could check the commander for keyboard shortcuts within the app before posting it is missing ;-) Thanks!

What I mean to say is, if I was in Ableton and I clicked a note then held shift and used the left and right arrow buttons it stretches the note to the next beat. I can't see to do that in Bitwig. I'm not trying to move the note, but just stretch it without having to use the mouse.
