What is the best way to hold an arpeggio like in Ableton?

If you have a midi controler, try to assign midi CC64 for sustain to a button or a knob. Maybe it will work as a ARP LATCH Button.

Another thing you can do: download and install a free midi plugin utility suite called Piz midi: https://code.google.com/p/pizmidi/downloads/list It's very handy for midi fx. In the bundle there is a device called MidiChordHold with a very simple ON/OFF button that works like a Latch button if you place the device before the arpeggio.

PS: I just bought the Keith Mcmillen K-Board for 100€ and it has a sustain toggle that works like a charm. Plus the pads with the note expression are very nice. I strongly advice to check it out: http://www.keithmcmillen.com/products/k-board/
