I'm finding the new Browser to be pretty cumbersome.. It requires several more clicks to load devices than it would have with the old mini pop-up browser. I just want to load Bitwig devices from the + button in the device editor without having to see the whole browser, select audio effects, then select Bitwig Devices, and then find the device in an unorganized list..

The mini FX browser that popped up when clicking the + button with organized FX was a pretty great feature.. Hard to believe they would do away with that without something more suitable to replace it... I first used an early demo of Bitwig that had the old mini browser, and have now started using it again with version 1.3.15. Am I missing something here?

It would be great to have this mini device browser back and also be able to have it show favorited devices(VSTs) in their proper category.

It can take some time getting used to, but now I can't live without it. What really speeds things up is using the search function. Just type the first 2-3 letters of the device when the pop-up browser opens and you got it. Or indeed work with favorites and lists.

Yeah, the browser seems to favour keyboard instead of the mouse now. For eg: press "B" (to open browser on selected track) -> Type the first letters of the device -> "Down arrow" (to choose the correct device) -> Enter

Btw. Anyone know how to move between the tabs (Devices - Preset - Multisamples - Samples - Music) with the keyboard? Also if you have a device selected (sometimes accidently) and press "B" it opens with Presets tab selected. But if you then choose a device it'll replace the one you have selected. (I got the logic, but then how would you add a new device in this situation by keyboard?)

Well yes.. or you can filter the results by File type, Category, Creator ect, but that's maybe bit awkward with keyboard. For eg: your Bitwig Filter could be: B > "fil" > Down Arrow > Left Arrow (to filter by Creator) > Down Arrow (to Bitwig) > Right Arrow (back to device list) > Down Arrow + Enter. Hahah, that almost sounds like an old NES hack or such.

OR you can just grab your mouse and use Favorites for eg: Favorites

That's kind of sad.. Unless I'm still missing something, you still have to type in more info to get to devices faster.. For example if I want to add the Bigwig Filter to a track I have to type Bigwig before filter if I want it to filter Bigwig devices, then arrow down to the right device since EQ are shown too.
